The successful applicant will be experienced, enthusiastic, and able to work with other staff to provide outstanding customer service, always striving to meet the needs of our patrons.
Essential Responsibilities Provide exemplary customer service Maintain friendly and productive working relationships with colleagues at all levels and in all departments Answer all incoming phone calls Assist patrons checking in and out materials Issue library cards to new patrons Process new items that come into the library Shelve returned items Required Knowledge, skills and abilities High school diploma or G.

equivalent Legible handwriting and strong spelling skills Demonstrated knowledge of computers and job-related computer systems and programs Ability to follow written and oral instructions Knowledge of the Dewey Decimal System Ability to file both alphabetically and numerically Ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously Ability to retain accuracy in repetitive tasks Ability to perform detailed work in an organized manner Ability to push / pull a loaded book cart (up to 25 pounds) Ability to communicate clearly with members of the public Excellent telephone manners Flexibility in adapting to changes in a rapidly evolving work environment Ability to assist in planning and implementing programs and services in assigned area of responsibility Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Experience using Missouri Evergreen ILS Experience using eBooks and other downloadable media Proven track record of long-term employment.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
