Assistant Manager - vAlert

Responsibilities and Qualifications

Responsible for assisting in the management of the vAlert department. vAlert provides cardiac monitoring to a diverse patient population on a 24-hour basis. The Assistant Manager will: ensure quality clinical care, maximize resources, effectively manage the delivery of cardiac monitoring, create and promote a professional environment, promote the vision and goals of Mercy Virtual, and develop levels of coworker engagement. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Virtual Service Standards.

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

  • Assists in the direction of the overall operations of the department(s) to insure the provision of safe and effective monitoring.
  • Under the direction of the Manager, will assist with the human resource management for the department(s) in a manner that is congruent with the policies, procedures and mercy service standards of behavior.
  • Develops staffing plans, schedules, and daily assignments that effectively match resources available and monitoring requirements.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of policies and procedures throughout the organization and insures utilization of them for consistent compliance.
  • Utilizes evidence-based practice and research to develop and keep monitoring standards current.
  • Supports of the National safety patient goals to insure the processes of monitoring are reflective of a culture of safety.
  • Creates an environment within area of responsibility that fosters participation and direction of their department in the overall organizational direction.
  • Provides frequent reports to vAlert Manager on group performance and key metrics.
  • Utilizes the hiring for fit tools available to insure the appropriate selection and hiring of new coworkers.
  • Implements initiatives within the department that foster retention and minimize turnover of coworkers.
  • Insures initial and ongoing competency of the coworkers within the department.
  • Provides and insures participation in ongoing continuing education and professional development opportunities for all coworkers.
  • Creates an environment that promotes professional practice.
  • Participates personally in professional development activities both internal and external.
  • Demonstrates facilitation and communication skills both with individuals and in groups.
  • Builds work teams that are focused on achieving service excellence.
  • Demonstrates effective utilization of supplies and equipment.
  • Complies with all payroll policies and practices. In order to continuously improve our ability to provide effective leadership, ongoing personal and professional development must be pursued.
  • Pursues continuing education in both clinical specialty practice area and leadership with a minimum of 20 hours per year.
  • Maintains clinical competence in the delivery of monitoring for patient population being served.
  • Implements the organizational strategies and initiatives relative to Mercy Service.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:Will be responsible for leading a team of supervisors.

Qualifications:

  • Qualification 1: High School Diploma
  • Qualification 2:Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience required.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years or monitor technician preferred.
  • EMT, Paramedic, PCT experience will be considered.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Past experiences must have demonstrated leadership ability, good interpersonal skills, and the ability to apply sound principles of management and supervision.
  • Must be proficient in use of a personal computer and must be able to analyze complex data from various information systems.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • CRAT certification within 3 months of hire.
  • BLS Certification within 3 months of hire.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the co-worker is regularly required to stand; walk, sit; use hands and fingers, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The co-worker is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The co-worker must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision, and ability to adjust focus. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
