Practice Manager I

Responsibilities and Qualifications

Responsible for the day-to-day operations and management of at least one business unit with up to five providers and revenue up to 1. 5 million. Provides leadership, direction, growth and administration of operations to ensure accomplishment of objectives. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

  • Directs, supervises, and coordinates specific functions and activities of clinic to include provider schedules, clinic staffing and, utilization of facilities and maintaining equipment and supplies.
  • Works with Finance and Operations leader in the preparation, administration and monitoring of clinic budget.
  • Supports Mercy initiatives and is a champion for change.
  • Enforces Mercy and Clinic policies and practices.
  • Interacts with medical and administrative staff to ensure compliance with standards and regulations. Ensures compliance with regulations and with clinic standards of quality patient care.
  • Corresponds with Risk Management regarding legal issues as needed.
  • Responsible for clinics cash receipts process including daily bank deposits and quality control measures.
  • Develops and fosters a clear and concise communication plan to ensure the timely and effective flow of information and resolution of concerns or complaints.
  • Leads regular huddles, staff meetings and formation activities.
  • Accountable for patient, co-worker and physician satisfaction.
  • Collects data, prepares reports, analyzes statistics, and answers correspondence

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or completion of GED required (Bachelor degree preferred)
  • Must have a minimum of one or more years of administrative or clinical experience in medical setting or must have two or more years of experience in supervisory or management role.
  • Skill in exercising initiative, judgment, problem-solving, and decision making.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex data.
  • Ability to research and prepare comprehensive reports.
  • Ability to monitor quality control standards.
  • Ability to communicate clearly
  • Knowledge of healthcare administration and clinic philosophy and policies and operating procedures.
  • Knowledge of fiscal management systems and techniques.
  • Knowledge of human resource management practices including supervision and staff development.
  • Knowledge of governmental regulations and reimbursement requirements.
  • Knowledge of business logic of physician practices specific to particular clinic.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
